How to Warm Up in Skechers Shape-Ups Shoes
Because Skechers Shape-Ups shoes activate your core muscles when you walk, you need to warm up your body just like you would before any workout. The dynamic rolling bottom not only reduces cellulite and decreases aggravation to the ankle and knee joints, but it also acts as a tool to provide you with an excellent stretching routine. Put on your shoes and set aside about 10 minutes so that you properly prepare your Achilles, calves and hamstrings before walking.
- Kick Back – Position your feet parallel and hip distance wide. Standing upright and balance centered, rock your weight to the back of the heel. Hold this position for a count of five and then return to your starting position. Repeat this process between 5 to 10 times to stretch your calf and hamstrings.
- Rock and Roll – Start again in the same beginning position as Step 1. Rock forward to balance yourself on the bottom of your toes and hold this position for a count of two. Slowly roll back to your heel and hold for another count of two. Return to a standing position. Repeat this 5 to 10 times to work your Achilles and ankles.
- Roll and Rock and Roll – Repeat the Rock and Roll routine (Step 2), but switch up your feet so that one foot is rocking to the toes and the other one is rolling back to the heel. Perform this step 5 to 6 times.
- The Lean – Put your hands on a wall in a parallel position and just a bit higher than your head. Make an upside-down “V” with your legs so that one is ahead of the other. Press your hands to wall, keep your arms and back leg straight and then and bend the leg closest to the wall. Hold this position for a count of five. Repeat this process on the other leg. Perform this process 5 to 6 times to stretch out your calf and Achilles.
Throughout your warm up, make sure that you do not lock lock your knees or roll too far backward. Now you’re ready to use your rocker shoes. Enjoy your walk!
